On Wednesday Barnes & Noble announced that they will be releasing a new Nook tablet this year on Black Friday for $49.99.
The budget tablet will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, giving users access to games, movies, TV shows, and apps via the Google Play Store.
It will also feature both a front and rear camera (2 and 5 megapixels respectively), 8 GB of built in storage space, and a microSD slot which will allow users to add up to 128 GB of space.
The bright 7″ IPS display has a resolution of 1024 x 600 which will last you 7 hours of reading time according to Barnes & Noble.
In a move to obviously steal disgruntled Apple users, the tablet does feature a 3.5 mm headset jack.
Barnes & Noble chief digital officer, Fred Agir, said that “we’re extremely excited to introduce our most affordable NOOK ever, just in time for the holiday shopping season, so customers can give their loved ones the gift of reading forever for less”.
The tablet can be pre-order on Barnes & Noble’s site here, and will be available in stores starting on November 25th.
Are you going to pick up the new Nook or are you hoping to find another tablet under the Christmas tree this year?
